Bijoy Jain received his M. Arch from Washington University in St Louis, USA in 1990. He worked in Los Angeles and London between 1989 and 1995 and returned to India in 1995 to found his practice. Working on the boundaries between art and architecture, the essence of his work lies in the relationship between man in nature/nature in man. Water, air and light forming the basis of all materiality in the synthesis of his work.
He has participated in several international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale for Architecture in 2010, 2014 and 2016, the Sharjah Biennale in 2013, Amongst others he has participated in “Nature Rules .... Dreaming of Earth Project” Hara Museum, Tokyo,2019 “Abhaya” at Chemould Gallery Prescott Road, Mumbai, 2018/19 “Migration of Energies” at the Gandy Gallery, Bratislava, 2018 “PoèmeBrut” at the Design Museum Gent (Belgium) 2018.
He has received several accolades and awards to name a few: International Fellow - Royal Institute of British Architects 2017, Grande Medaille d’Or, L’Académie d’architecture, Paris, France 2014, Third edition - BSI Swiss Architectural Award, Lugano, Switzerland 2012.
His design pieces have been acquired by Maniera Gallery, Brussels, LACMA - Los Angeles County Museum of Art, SF MOMA and Pompidou Centre, Paris.
