Piercing Brightness

Piercing Brightness is the first feature film to be developed as part of the project. A science fiction film, it is ostensibly the story of a secret cabal of extraterrestrial beings, who have been living for centuries in the city of Preston, disguised as a human inhabitants. Yet, woven throughout this fantastical tale are other, critical, narratives. Dawood describes the film as a 'coded allegory', a layeered account of people and place, bound up with questions of identity, race, belief and belonging.
