In this series of photographs of performances staged in public spaces, the figures are seen interrupting each other’s senses - to see, listen and speak. They are part of an ongoing body of the artists works since 2006, based on the Japanese proverb, See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil, made popular by teachings around Mahatma Gandhi. The works are rooted in the context of a landscape where borders of orchestrated oppression and loss of agency are harder to detect. The viewer is invited to zoom in, walk closer and enter into an intimate dialogue with the works, which intentionally stay blurred, reminding us of aberrations that surround us, optical and otherwise.
