This room responds to acts of historical erasure. Sometimes it is literal, which occurs when monuments are broken, destroying meaning-laden objects. Sometimes it is metaphorical and long-standing: devaluing ideas, disrespecting intangible histories, disregarding symbolic memories. These artists extend JJ School of Art history and city practices to give a glimpse to the future landscape of art - questioning the inclusivity of institutional-industry-led ecosystems of art.
