1. Could you define what your work is about?
My work is all about absurdities in our daily life. Mankind
has developed a skill to conveniently conceptualize these absurdities,
as if they are the inevitable part of our existence. This study
is very interesting and I have been doing this for quite some
time now.
2. Choose, describe and comment two of your work
"Panic room " 2006
Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by
unexpected and repeated episodes of intense fear accompanied
by physical symptoms that may include chest pain, heart palpitations,
shortness of breath, dizziness, or abdominal distress. When
you see these signs in the society in the context of economical,
political social issues you are bound to experience this.
Export Design 2000 (Work is about Kidney racket)
Once upon a time, there used to live a Pandita, (a scholar)
who was a Trikaalagnya (one who knows about future). One day
with his divya-drushti (Power to visualize future) he saw that
in his next janma (birth) he will be born to a Varaaham (pig)
owned by a Rajaka(washer man). There will be white spots on
the head and legs of him then (when he will be born as a pig).
He called his son and told on what day and time, he will be
born as a pig. He asked his son to come then and immediately
kill him and give him vimukti (freedom) from that hiina (low
grade ), durbhara deham (fragile body). Feeling pity on his
father, he accepted to do so.
The son went on the specified day to the Rajaka and identified
the pig which was just born and had white spots. He took it
to kill it, but the pig pleaded him not to do so. It told him
that it liked the smell of dirt, garbage and it is very happy
to go around in dirty places. He asked the son not to kill him
and leave him. Surprised seeing the pig's words, the son went
away.
4. What does the expression "indian artist" mean
to you ?
One of my recent work is titled "Souvenir maker- Designed
in America Conceptualized in India, Made in China, sponsored
by Korea .. ..Yes we are conditioned to think under flags..."
where I have converted barbed wire making machine in to a Souvenir
maker and have also applied for the patent.
5. What would be your slogan ? what is the very short expression
you would use to describe what you are, what you think or what
you create ?
In a mental asylum, a mad man was fishing in an empty tank.
to tease him ,another man asked, "How many fish have you
caught?" The first man replied, "You are a fool, this
is an empty tank and I am holding a rod."
